18 Months-20 Months

Emerson turned 18 Months in April, right before Easter. He went in for his well check and he was not a fan of the doctors again, but we made it through when they gave him a dinosaur sticker. Emerson weighted in at 25lbs(38%) and 33 inches (71%) and 90% for his head.

He is such a great kid. Any baby that was left in him left completely the last month. He is our little toddler now.  He is very independent, is talking a lot more, and is just a sweet kid.

Emerson loves people, always has. He is more shy and cautious then he use to be with new people but he still loves to wave and say hi. He has loved having so many people staying with us recently.
He is a big fan of summer. Popsicles, swimming, bike rides, the park, he just loves it all. He has a mini pool and loves his swim time.

He is doing great in nursery, he only was nervous the first day. His favorite leader is "Bob", an older man with a mustache that works in the nursery. Emerson loves him, its hilarious. He knows he gets to go to nursery after the prayer and always grabs Marks hand (he takes him to nursery) and turns right to me and says "Bye Mama"

Claire nannied two kids and we would meet them for lunch, or to go to the park, or to the free kids movie summer. Emerson loved the little boy "Drew" and whenever we go to the park or to the movie he asks for "Drew" to come the entire time. He loves animals still and loves the chickens.

Mark always takes him on drives in his truck on Sunday to the river to throw rocks in and check out the elk farm. Emerson loves his dad time

He loves blankets and still sleeps with his Aiden and Anais blanket. Whenever he gets sleepy he goes and grabs his blanket from his crib.

We have introduced potty training slowly so he isn't nervous about it when we go full throttle in the next couple of months. He has done great, he usually goes a few times a day but only if I initiate him going on the potty. So we are working on him noticing or asking to go.

Emerson loves to read, all day, any day. He asks for books all the time and is constantly looking at books by himself also.
He  did swimming lessons the first 2 weeks in June and loved it! He jumped in, blew bubbles, put his head under, floated on his back, kicked his legs, and just loves swimming. It was a great way to get him used to the water at the beginning of summer. He was a little cautious at first but by the end was completely comfortable in the water.
He wouldn't smile or hold up his swimming certificate

He is obsessed with Winnie the Pooh right now, he saw it for a few minutes once and was hooked. He asks for Pooh Bear non-stop.

He loves when we all work outside together and wants to be involved in everything. He loves to help water, dig, he loves picking strawberries, mowing the lawn, but when we weed he usually finds other things to do. Like lounge in his pool. He gets very excited when he finds a ripe strawberry and drags me over to show me when he has found one.

We love this kid and have enjoyed this new stage. Even the tantrums :)
