May was a yard work filled month, playing in the sun, bike rides to the park, and just enjoying life.
Emerson hit D.I. gold and found a buzz lightyear for $1. After a good scrubbing and a battery change this bad boy was as good as new, minus not having wings.... He doesn't seem to mind
Rainbow watching from the front porch
Emerson started "Preschool"- a toddler lab at the University. It was perfect for him to get a little more social interaction with peers and he had a blast with all his "friends" twice a week for just a little over an hour. He did great and really loved feeling big enough for "school". He started following directions much better and it helped this little free spirit understand structure and rules from people other then mom and dad. They have an observation booth for parents where you can see the classroom but the kids can't see you. This is from the first day, Emerson was pretty enamored with the snack station because 1. they let the kids serve and pour their own drinks and food which he loves doing 2. they serve juice, which we don't normally have - he loved it.
Kite Flying
Feeding the ducks
We watched Heidi & Doug's dog, Yoda, for a few days while they were out of town. Emerson was in dog heaven and loved hanging out with Yoda, going on walks, and running around the yard. He still asks for a dog weekly :)
Saturday Chores. We really want our kids to be hard working, self-aware, and just able to be clean functional people from a young age. I know so many kids and teenagers that have no idea how clean-up after themselves or help. Emerson can mop and help clean his bathroom at 2.5 yrs old - trust me cleaning takes way longer with his help, but he does! His favorite is getting to use the toilet scrubber :)
This kid requested Pizza Pie Cafe for a few weeks, before we left for Hawaii we treated him. I think he likes going for the Oreo Pizza....
Enjoying some pool time with cousin Calvin
