Three Months

Three months for our favorite girl. Eliza is the happiest in the mornings and loves when her brother runs into her room (or climbs in her crib....) when she wakes up. She already, at the ripe age of 3 months, shows preference for mom and dad over other people holding her and is happiest at home with her people. She is not the biggest fan of big crowds and lots of noise. Perhaps she is more introverted then her big bro is. She had her first giggle and belly laugh and it's adorable. Eliza hates the car and her car seat with a passion but likes being near and dear in the solly baby wrap when we run errands. Her favorite is being held out to look around or being able to play on the floor, preferably under the Christmas tree. She celebrated her first Christmas and went to Boise for the first time.

Eliza went sledding for the first time, well she got dressed up nice and warm and watched everyone else sled.

She has started to stay awake when we go to the library for story time and loved listen to the librarian read to everyone. It was crazy to not have the sleeping newborn snuggled up in her wrap. 

She takes 3 naps a day. The first 2 she always goes down extremely easy, swaddle, binkie, and little swaying and she is down. However her third nap for some reason is always more tricky, her eyes seem to pop open the minute we set her down and after a few times of the whole process we sometimes we just throw in the towel and have a little cuddle session on the couch and I read to Emerson or I have it be his art time and he paints or plays with play dough. 

Bedtime is anywhere from 7-8, whenever she tell us its time to be put down. She is pretty easy to read with her cues and will let you know that she wants to be in bed. She sleeps a good 7-9 hour stretch. She wakes up anywhere from 2:30-5 am. There is no real rhyme or reason to the time she will wake up. We even tried to do the "dream feed", where we would go in and wake her up before we went to bed and feed her in an attempt to cut out that early morning breakfast. It didn't work, she would still wake up in her window of 2:30-5. But after she eats she goes right back to bed and sleeps to 7 or 8am.

 She likes being right next to use and in the action of things. When we are in the kitchen and we leave her in the living room she will be content for a few minutes but lets us know pretty fast she wants to be with us.

 She is way into spitting bubbles now and drooling. Eliza is a sensitive soul, if things aren't to her liking she has a little meltdown. She will go from laughing and smiling to weeping in .2 seconds if there is a sound, movement, change, that she doesn't approve of. It is pretty funny and has made for a very confused Grandpa who was just holding a laughing giggling baby who is now weeping big crocodile tears. I am not one for gender stereotypes, especially for personality types. But in the first 3 months of life we would say Eliza fits "girl" when it comes to her emotions :) If she isn't happy about something she wants us to know and needs a "moment" to get over it. But in general she is very sweet and happy.
