Emerson, our little toothless wonder, is still toothless... We like to give him real pieces of food to explore and taste but he is at the point where he needs to start eating it but he can not really eat any of it because of his toothless self, plus he has intense gag reflexes and gags, and yes he has thrown up,on anything basically not liquid. Not the most fun meal time experience and stress me out to watch. Even though I know he isn't choking and he is just trying to learn to chew. But he hates eating off of a spoon or eating anything pureed. As he approaches 7 months I wanted to get him a wee bit more interested in some food. So we give him real food and try to give him little spoonfuls of grains or softer foods so he can learn to chew. HappyBaby at Target has organic rice and kale puffs that have helped a lot in that department. They have helped in getting him to chew, well "gum". He gets easily distracted but if Mark or I sit next to him and obnoxiously make chewing motions and noises he does awesome and actually "eats". We have explored a few options and he most defiantly has an opinion on what he likes, but we are slowly working into getting him to like more.
( Mark says I'm going to jinx us but I don't want a "kid-food" child,he will eat normal food)
Blueberries and Spinach get a thumbs up
Broccoli Florets are a go
Quinoa he is loving (first grain he has actually eaten)
Oatmeal.... no thanks mom ( dramatic much, he literally weeping over having to eat oatmeal)
Greek Yogurt - Yes PLEASE!
Movie night in the backyard. He seemed to be fan of watching a movie on a giant screen in his P.J.'s and "Rango" and giggled whenever the lizard came on. He lasted about 30 mins before it was off to bed with him

Little Saturday afternoon picnic in the mountains and tromp through the mountain meadow. A much needed "green" run, we really needed to see some trees and green.
Good-bye floopy old man combover...
Did a little cutting while he was distracted with dinner
Did a little buzzing outside
Not so sure
Really not liking
After this he freaked so I stopped the photographing and held him while Mark quickly got the rest
He looks so much older- adios combover
Little Buddy refused food of any variety, much like Emerson, until he was 9 months old. Just one day he decided that it was interesting enough to be worth his attention. Stubborn little boys.
