We really wanted to go do a fun outdoor activity but we had a record low snow-fall and all the snow was melted by the end of February, even in the mountains! So we headed to Jackson Hole to go see the Elk Refuge
The Elk from Yellowstone and Grand Teton all winter on this area. On a normal winter day the refuge offers sleigh rides out to see the elk herd. Since there was no snow, the sleigh ride became a wagon ride. It was still a blast and was actually really fun to see when it was "warm". Last time we went it was so cold and most of the elk are not very active with low temps and loads of snow. With it being so warm they were running around and a lot of the males were sparing, which Emerson thought was the coolest.
The warm sun, soothing rocking of a horse drawn wagon, and 2 hours past a nap time did Emerson in the last 20 minutes.
Emerson loved all the animals in the museum
There is a great toy store in Jackson Hole that we love going to when this kid needs a little break
Goofy boy at lunch - this is what he did when we asked him to smile
We love going on adventures with Oma
