Two Weeks

Emerson went in for his two week appointment.... He weighted in at 9lbs and 4 ounces and 22 inches long. He now weighs 1 pound and 1 ounce over his birth weight, needless to say this kid likes his food. He is a great eater and can get hoppin mad when he is hungry. He does great nursing or with a bottle, which is nice that he easily does both so Mark and I can share night time feedings. He is getting a little round Buddha belly on him but still has skinny long legs. He is 61 percentile for weight and 80 percentile for height.

He eats pretty constantly every three hours during the day. He has been doing pretty good at nights, he does a 5 hour stretch from 11-4 or 5am, eats and then will sleep from about 5-8am. Depending on when he wakes up Mark will get up and feed him before he gets ready for work. If its earlier or too late then I will get up with him.
He has huge blue eyes and is staying awake more and more during the day.  He still hates baths and he has from day one. So much for a relaxing night time routine - if anything it just wears him out from being mad and he sleeps harder :)

He is a serious little guy when he is awake - but when he is asleep makes some great facial expressions and has the biggest smiles.

This is a classic Emerson annoyed face. If you move him, set him down, or do something he doesn't like you will most likely see this crusty face.

He is sleeping in our room still and is am extremely loud sleeper. I didn't think the grunting would start until High School - but he grunts and makes a lot of noise when he sleeps. It takes him about 30 minutes to wake up - it is a long process of stretching, a little whining, he throws in a lot of grunting, a few half cries - then falls asleep for 10 minutes - then starts again.
