6 Months

Our crazy loud, non-solid eating, ridiculously sweet boy went and turned 6 months. At his doctors appointment he weighted in at 18.11lbs (75%), 27.25 inches  for height (80%), and 97% for his genius brain.

He is just getting more and more personality. He is so goofy and loves to laugh and make everyone else laugh. He just sits and squawks and giggles all the time. Or spits - he is a huge raspberry blowing fan. He rolls around like a crazy boy now, hasn't really shown interest in crawling yet but we are definitely okay with having him less mobile for a little.  He gets excited now when he sees us if he has been with a babysitter or when Mark gets home from work. He gives semi-hugs where he wraps his arms around your neck or shoulder and it is the sweetest thing in the world.

 

He now prefers his stomach or side to sleep and always with a blanket by his face.

He still sleeps pretty well at night, getting up once to eat after a 8 or 9 hour stretch and then back down for an hour or two. This last week he has been waking up a ton at night and throwing fits and screaming when its nap time. Lo and behold he is getting his two bottom teeth in, poor kiddo.

He is sitting up really well but still needs us or a pillow behind him just in case he gets excited and kicks his feet, then he falls backwards :) I surround him with pillows while he is playing while I get in the shower - apparently he got a little sleep that day and thought they made a nice bed.

Emerson's new favorite is pulling all his toys out. He has to touch everything he sees (especially phones, computers, remotes, i.e everything we don't let him have) and gets real annoyed when we don't let him. He is just busy busy busy all the time and wants to be everywhere and touching everything. I know it's just going to get worse as he gets more mobile.

 Any time I try to take a picture of him now he just wants to grab the camera or my phone...

He still does great on planes - but still hates his car seat. He is due for a haircut soon, it is getting really long - it falls into his eyes now when he is playing and he has been called a girl on multiple occasions ( because girls wear blue striped polos? :))
